Issue 4: Counterlexicons

The US Is Peerless

Morgan Võ

There aren’t laws only fashions
No directions only zones

Candidates are winning
Kent State could’ve won

But election is vague
Any day can beget a university department

There’s a cushion around the food
And like in hundreds of other dreams

My forlorn corny punch is failing
Diffused to scattered glances

Spitting on Biden has proven useless
He’s got no pores

He’ll accept that his dog’s a bad dog
Meanwhile there’s a question

A question not a game
A question not a rose

There’s no work only effort
They can’t fix the problem but they manage

If questions must be problems
Then yeah it’s going to go on like this

Our ancient novel story cycle
The present ground to finer paste

Picking up the phone
The picture looks back with a guide in the middle

There are no books only covers over pages
No more grounds only core

Haiti won but the nations
Won’t let them have it

Pro-Israel lobby faces challenging fête
Gaza war and shifting politics again

Now we have the chance to intervene
Means time to get the paper wet
